The Hartge Family

This lovely family has so much hope, faith, and love that anyone around them just feels this incredible warmth and optimism from them. I work with the mama of this family in the NICU and when she asked me for a sunflower family session, I was excited to meet the rest of her family.  Right before our session in Nokesville, VA we had torrential rain which flooded the sunflower fields prior to us going.  Thankfully, most of the water went away but still made for a lot of mud.  We sloshed through it all and having remembered from my previous sunflower experience, I wore long pants and even sprayed bug spray (ha ha, take that mosquitos) But, the joke was on me…even with long pants, I was still attacked by relentless mosquitos.  Again, worth all the bites for these beautiful memories of a beautiful family.

WELCOME

I’m a mama to five (two boys, a girl, and fraternal twin girls). I can’t even put into words the depth of my love for my family, but they are the light in my soul. Our life is hectic and chaotic but it’s in these messy, tiresome days, that I fall in love with my family more and more each day. I’m not a morning person, and never have been; but being a night owl helped me settle into my role as a nightshift NICU nurse, where I spend 3 shifts a week taking care of sweet babies. I began my odyssey into photography as a way to capture my own family and children and preserve the memories of them; little did I know it would turn into my passion and a career.
